A Simple, Reliable Test
A fFN test is a simple, reliable test (much like a Pap test). It has no side effects for either you or your baby. Your doctor or nurse-midwife takes a swab of secretions near the cervix. No blood is drawn. After the test, your doctor or nurse-midwife will send the sample to a laboratory for analysis. Once the test result is returned to your doctor, he or she will discuss the result and what it means with you, so together you can decide what to do next.
fFN is the most powerful predictor of preterm birth <32 weeks1 — so you can have confidence in the result. A simple fFN test can make a big difference.
